energy
We have too much when we are young and not enough as we age. Energy is transformed into electric, magnetic and electromagnetic forms as well as nuclear and chemical. Sometimes it is kinetic and sometimes potential and also takes the form of sound and surface energy. We use it up and then fill up to get more. We can measure units of energy with ergs, calories, joules Btus or kilowatts. There is a rest mass energy connected to theories of relativity and thermodynamics. We exert it everyday and call it work. We bring a version of energy into our homes via power lines and power poles with transformers and insulators. These days we are conserving the chemically formed energy to reduce the entropy concept or polluting bi-products. We are one with it, depend on it, see it, hear it, smell it and feel it in action but we can't bottle it for any extended period without it escaping. We collect energy from wind, sun, and water, while we continue to transform other carbon forms with heat, fission and fusion. We constantly are transformed and transform it constantly, but ultimately the amount shifts but never changes, go figure......
